The film
A modern (2011) film reeking of the 1970s: espionage in the cold war; death behind the iron curtain; the constrictions of a private boy's boarding school; dark tension in the streets of London. Based on John Le Carre's novel, it received three Academy Award nominations including Best Actor for Gary Oldman (George Smiley).
